Art for the Reading Nook

just add tea and slippers

I may never have my own home library complete with rolling ladders and chandeliers (I see you Belle), but a girl can at least dream about a reading nook. My ideal spot has lots of pillows, a stack of unread books and a curvy, scene-stealing peacock chair to curl up in. Are peacock chairs comfortable? Does it matter? I referenced colors (hello Hermés orange lamp!) and shapes from my original painting, "Cold Shoulders," to pull together pieces for the perfect petite book depository—from the rounded angles of the side table and chair to the teeny half moons printed on the pillow. It's all about those cozy curves.
